Obligatory note of apology
Hi, any readers out there still remaining...
I just wanted to post a quick note explaining that yes, I am still alive and no, I haven't abandoned this blog. Not even. I have just been busier in the past three weeks than possibly ever before in my life, and blogging has taken a back seat to graduating from cooking school, eating at wonderful French bistros (please, please, everyone go to Chez L'Ami Jean! You won't regret it!), entertaining successive waves of houseguests (who all seem to be on a mission to buy scarves in Paris, and who have all announced that they intend to miss their flight home), buying a tiny Christmas tree, and beginning my stage in the kitchen of the Paris Ritz.
I just got off "work", and you'll note that for me, it is now 1 a.m. I have to get up again at 7:30 tomorrow and go right back for another day filled with washing out fishy fridge drawers, julienning evil things like sundried tomatoes and orange peel, counting Brittany lobsters that keep trying to make getaways, and grilling hundreds of scallops and tiny, delicate marinated baby endives. Needless to say, I have already burned and/or cut most of my fingers.
After the madness dies down a bit, I promise I'll keep writing about all my latest capers. But this weekend, I'm headed to Strasbourg and Nancy for some R&R, a nice glass (or five) of vin chaud, and some browsing at the Christmas market.
A la prochaine!

Apologize? Ce n'est pas necessaire!
As for the houseguests buying scarves, I laughed out loud. (Because I mostly regret that I only bought 3 this last visit). And, as for missing their flight, I'm still regretting that I didn't miss mine! Je comprends.
:)
Hey, don't apologize, this is your house (or kitchen)
Glad to hear you're still alive :)
I'll be in Strasbourg myself this Thursday! Fill me in on fun things there.
Keep it up! Good luck! :) And do have a nice and apparently well deserved rest in Strasbourg.
hey.. i was kind of worried!! i can't wait for reading you again!!! many cheers form salerno, ITALY, i loooove your posts!
Cindy,
We'll be here.
Joyeux Noel Seen-tay-ah! We are off to New Mexico and Arizona for Christmas. Looking forward to sending you a substantive email soon. Have a great time in Strasbourg and Nancy!
Not to worry -- have fun and keep posting when you can. Not sure what to say about the Ritz duties -- ewwwww. Guess we all start somewhere, hey?
Okay, so I'm one of the scarf-buyers too and I regret only buying 5 :) Well two were Xmas gifts, but still... I still daydream about all of the other colors I could have bought and I can't wait for the day someone says "Oh, where did you get that beautiful scarf?" ;) The opening for every shopaholic's dream conversation!
