The best nectarine tart in the entire world ...
...can be found at Camino in Oakland.
The crust was crunchy and delicate and crackly and crumbly. The nectarines were perfectly ripe and glossy. They did not add pastry cream or frangipane or any other adulterous substances to distract from the perfection of the fruit. They did not mess around.
Just the way I like it.

Might I add, the crust looks crisped to perfection.
Cindy-
Kaukauna used to sell the product in a round top container which always resealed perfectly. They changed to this squarish lid a couple of years ago and I've had a corner lift up a few times and of course it drys out the cheese somewhat.
When I wrote them about my concern, they acknowledged the change, and gave me a handful of coupons for free cheese. I guess nobody else has had the same problem. Anyway, I like the Port Wine too, but the plain cheddar is still my fave.
Best,
